About us
Steve How is an Architectural Technologist with over 15 years of experience working throughout the New Forest and surrounding areas. Based in Hordle, he has built a strong reputation for practical, well‑considered residential design.
Before launching cfadesign, Steve spent 12 years as Head of the Architectural Department at R. Elliott Associates in Sway, a respected local architectural and engineering practice. During this time, he played a key role in delivering a wide range of residential projects and helped shape much of the department's reputation for quality and reliability. Steve's experience covers all aspects of residential design, including extensions, internal reconfiguration, loft conversions, outbuildings and new builds. His work is grounded in a clear understanding of how people use their homes and how thoughtful design can improve everyday living.
Over the years, he has developed strong working relationships with the New Forest National Park Authority, New Forest District Council, BCP Council and Dorset Council amongst others, giving him valuable insight into local planning policies and processes.
Steve studied for his degree in Architectural Technology at Southampton and graduated in 2023. He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.
At cfadesign, Steve focuses on providing cost‑effective, well‑thought‑out design solutions for projects of all sizes — from small alterations to full new builds — with a friendly, down‑to‑earth approach that reflects the character of the New Forest.
